Volunteer Resources

To ensure a safe and ethical volunteer environment,

all volunteers must keep the following requirements up to date:

Conflict of Interest & Ethics Assurance

All volunteers are required to review and sign this form annually.

​

Criminal Background Check

A criminal background check is required for all volunteers and must be renewed every three years.

 

Volunteers who do not complete the required documentation will have their

volunteer status temporarily inactivated until all items are fulfilled.​​

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities

Wish Granting Volunteers

Help bring a child’s wish to life, from heartfelt discovery to joyful celebration. Create moments of hope, strength, and joy that make a lasting impact for wish children, their families and the community!

Event Volunteers

Roll up your sleeves to do a variety of even support that helps raise funds and creates awareness about Make-A-Wish. Events include I Wish to Party, Wish Ball, Walk for Wishes and many more!

Regional Councils

Promote Make-A-Wish Illinois in your community through event-based fundraising and volunteerism to build awareness, support or organize a large community event to and provide support to wish granting.

Associate Board

The Associate Board brings together Chicagoland career-driven individuals to support Make-A-Wish Illinois through fundraising, volunteering, and promoting our mission. 

Wish Ball Committee

The Wish Ball committee works to make the signature fundraising event happen, attracting nearly 1,000 philanthropic minded attendees who are passionate about the mission through marketing, auction and planning. â€‹

Walk For Wishes Committee

Walk Committee Members serve on regional committees to plan and execute Walk for Wishes events held throughout Illinois.​​
